Pitching/Problem Solving Shop Talk

April 25, 2009 - 11:30am

Gary Covino, Margo Melnicove, Alison Richards & Loretta Williams

Participants will have a chance to pitch science stories (1/person) to our panel of editors for feedback. A pitch (no more than five minutes) might include the news peg and story focus, the main sources, any scenes you would include, why your audience (whether local, regional or national) would care, and any multi-media content you would create to tell the story on the Web. The session will also provide an opportunity to brainstorm with instructors and fellow participants on how to solve difficult production and/or story issues. If time permits, we will also open up the discussion so that participants can bring up any topic of their choice.
