Soldier Nanotechnology

October 21, 2005 7:30pm - 8:30pm

Karen Gleason: The Institute of Soldier Nanotechnology (ISN) is driven by the goal of improving soldier survivability. The research at the ISN is funded by the US Army and is creating new knowledge at the nano scale, with the potential to be translated into realistic, full-scale applications.

Basic concepts, which are critical to this mission, will be discussed and overviews of selected current projects will be presented. This endeavor is inherently interdisciplinary, engaging faculty and students from numerous intellectual disciplines including chemistry, physics, materials and engineering.
