Jim Williams discovered public radio about ten years into his broadcasting career. Alongside that, he spent eight years working as a sound designer for radio, film and video. He decided to combine his passion for the community he found in public radio with his experience with sound design, a decision which led him to a five-year run with WRFG-FM in Atlanta. He finally moved west in 2001 for an announcer/producer position with KUNC-FM in Greeley, Colorado. He recently joined KUNM-FM in Albuquerque after having gazed longingly at it for some time. He hikes far too much, writes songs and works to produce radio he hopes makes a difference.
