Amy Mayer is an independent producer whose work has aired on many national programs including All Things Considered, Justice Talking, Living on Earth, Marketplace and Morning Edition. For several years she hosted Evening Rounds, a weekly health program on KUAC-FM in Fairbanks, Alaska. Covering several stories in the arctic nurtured her interest in science reporting. Currently, in addition to freelance print and radio reporting, Mayer hosts the local news during Weekend Edition Saturday on WFCR in Amherst, Massachusetts. She has a bachelor of arts degree from Wellesley College and a master of science degree in journalism from UC Berkeley.
