Ellen Horne

Ellen Horne is the executive producer for Radio Lab. She joined forces with hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich in 2003 and together they set out to create a new public radio format. Bringing together radio theater and documentary sound in the service of deep curiosity, Radio Lab is blazing a new path for science journalism. In 2007, The National Academies awarded a Keck Futures Communication Award to Radio Lab for the “imaginative use of radio to make science accessible to broad audiences.” Before joining Radio Lab, Horne reported on environmental issues for KQED and the National Radio Project's Making Contact. She has freelanced as a producer for The Infinite Mind and The Brian Lehrer Show.
