A low-carbon, sustainable energy economy is vital for our economic and environmental future. Dramatic strides have already been taken under the Obama Administration, opening the door for substantive and sustained work on energy and environmental stewardship. A new 'systems and solution science' compact between basic research, industry, government and an engaged electorate are needed to make this a reality. This talk will examine this new landscape, and examples of clean energy solutions science and policy that will need to be replicated and expanded in the coming years.
